Green Smoothies!!!

So I have been feeling extremely tired lately along with headaches and tons of nausea.  I am not pregnant!! =)  So I did a bunch of research and found Kale is a superfood.  Chock full of tons of important vitamins and fiber.

We have Kale in our garden.  We grew 2 huge bushes specifically for what I call my "Luxury Soup".  It's a soup Christian makes for me and is pure heaven.  Made with Kale and heavy whipping creme and turkey sausage.  But Since growing it we have only used it once.  I have been giving it away to friends and family and even letting the deer eat it because I knew I would never eat that much!

Anyhow, so my research led me to Green Smoothies.  I know that they seem to be the rage these days and I am a super anti-rage person.  But the science behind it all can't be refuted.  I haven't gone all crazy health nut on ya so don't worry!

I started on Saturday morning and today is day 3 of adding a green smoothie to my diet.  I haven't noticed much of a difference yet, but I will keep plugging along because I believe in it.

Day 1: First green smoothie ever....

1 cup of Kale packed down
1/2 a medium Green Apple
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 cup of Water
1 small Asian Pear

It was very gritty with the Asian Pear so I won't be doing that again!!  But I put it on my little smoothie maker and let it blend for 2 minutes.  I don't like my drinks cold so I didn't add ice but you can!  It was very grassy tasting but palatable.

Day 2:

1 cup of Kale packed down
1/2 a medium Green Apple
1 tablespoon of Honey
2 cups of Water
sprinkle of Ground Ginger

Much better with more water and no pear.  The ground ginger was barely noticeable, but I have digestive issues so the ginger was just for a little boost.

Day 3: Best one yet!

1 cup of Kale packed down
1/2 a medium Green Apple
3 young Borage leaves
2 tablespoons of Honey
3 fresh Rosemary leaves
2 fresh Mint leaves
Sprinkle of Ground Ginger

I think tomorrow I will add the Stevia leaves that I forgot I have growing out in the garden =)

Day 4:

1 cup of Kale packed down
1/2 a medium Green Apple
3 young Borage leaves
1 tablespoons of Honey
3 fresh Rosemary leaves
2 fresh Mint leaves
Sprinkle of Ground Ginger
2 Sprigs of Cilantro

I forgot to do the Stevia but the Cilantro was a delicious addition.

I have been feeling better but my stomach issues haven't really cleared up yet. My exhaustion levels are way better and my nausea is starting to clear up a little.
