High Cholesterol??? Me??? Not me! Yes...... me. This gal right here.

On May 3rd I went to my new doctor consult after having bloodwork done.  (VA makes you do labs before they start treating you.  Kinda brilliant...wish my docs had done this in the past).  Anywho, I found out that I have High Cholesterol.  Really high.  407........!!!  Not to mention I started off January at 199 lbs (I am 5'4" and have the apple shape).  So by this time I had dropped 19 lbs but still thought she would be telling me that I had diabetes before cholesterol issues.

So what to do?  Start eating low cholesterol food right.  Sounds simple eh?  The first few days were horrible.  I didn't know what to eat.  I was starving!  So I reluctantly did my research and now am eating more and feeling more full.  If you would have told me 2 months ago that I would have to go on a low cholesterol diet I probably would have laughed.  I really don't eat that much fat.

So on Tuesday the 14th of May, I met with a  dietician.  By then, I had a pretty good handle on food choices and have decided to just avoid meat altogether if possible.  She gave me some literature that shows the fat content of many of my normal foods.  No wonder I have high cholesterol.  I spent my whole life eating garbage.  Even when I thought I was eating healthy.

Since May 3rd (12 days) I have dropped 9 lbs and don't even crave meat.  I really thought it would be much harder.  I know my weight loss will stablize but it just kinda makes me think of all the garbage that has left my body to make 9 lbs go so fast.  That is pretty gross.

I also have a teaspoon of honey every morning before anything followed by a glass of water.

Soooooo my point is, look forward to some yummy and rich food that will be as vegan as humanly possible.
