Cholesterol/Health update

In May I found out that I had high cholesterol and an allergy to eggs. I had been told in my early 20's that I had high cholesterol but the doctor didn't really push the significance, so I ignored it.  Now I have had a plan since May and it has been amazing.  Even losing so fast that there was no time to fix my dress before my wedding and it looked like a garbage bag on me.  It is a love/hate thing =)

Last year I was a mess.  I weighed 199 lbs at Christmas and I am sure at some point I got higher than that but I wouldn't let myself get on the scale during those times.  I was so sick and so uncomfortable that my social life went almost dry and my family life wasn't much better. I had developed Sciatica from sitting around so much.

I didn't feel fat.  I didn't think I was "sick" because I was physically in ok shape.  Yes almost 200 on a 5'4" female seems a lot, but I have really large breasts and they hid my stomache fat that was building up and creating a table of sorts for my boobs.  I didn't see the issues.

On January first I said to me...  I just want to lose 25 lbs.  Then I will feel sexy again and look good in my wedding dress.  So I mowed, I shoveled, I boxed, and I kept busy and I lost 25 lbs in 4 months.  That was phenomenol to me and I felt pretty happy in that spot.  I had never applied for my VA benefits before and I did over the winter. Before your first appointment, ( mine was in May) they had me come in to do a blood panel.  I was like, really??  Blah but OK.

My doc read me the results and gave me a wake up call. 408 was my bad cholesterol level. I admit, I really didn't give a hoot what it was because I didn't know it mattered so much.  When she explained where normal cholesterol levels are and how mine was so alarming I kinda went extreme.  I mean, others tell me they have high cholesterol and their numbers are in the 200's I really freaked.  I went cold turkey Vegan.  That's a funny sentence!

But I did.  And I starved.  Then a week later I saw a nutritionist and it changed everything. She gave me all of tools needed to eat a lot of food but still lose or manage your weight.  I continued to mow the yards and I continued to hit the heavy bag every day for twelve minutes broke up into 2 minutes each with a minute of other work in between or just rest.

I haven't had my cholesterol checked yet, but I have lost 54 lbs as of yesterday and 9 inches of FAT off my midsection.  I am at 145 right now and that is the top of my BMI goal.  I feel very skinny and cold most of time hahaha.  But looking in the mirror I feel awesome.  I would like to stay here but I have more waist fat that needs to go away before I am in the clear.

I will post pics soon!  I have beginning/middle and not end yet obviously =)

Anyhow, I plan to post some of my fitness foods that made me not even miss meat.
